Due to maintenance and development work, power supply will remain suspended for 9 consecutive hours from 8 AM to 5 PM today, Saturday (December 20), in various areas of Sylhet and Rangpur cities.

The Sylhet Power Development Board (PDB) has informed that this power outage will be implemented for transformer maintenance and repair, transmission line development, and tree branch trimming.

Announcements via loudspeakers were made in the respective areas from Friday (December 19) evening onwards.

In Sylhet, power will be disconnected in the following areas: Jallapar, Keane Bridge, Nawab Road, Laladighirpar, Ghasitula, Police Line, Circuit House, Kalapara, CGM Court of Bhatalia Feeder, Bangladesh Bank, Sylhet Betar, Sagar Dighirpar, Dariapara, Jamtala, Mirzajangal, Chhayanir, Chhayataru, Saroshpur Goli, Madan Mohan College, Lamabazar, Machudighirpar, Ramerdighirpar, Taltola, Telihour, Sheikhghat, Shubhechha Residential Area, Paschim Kazirbazar, Jitu Miah’s Point, Kuarpar, Bilpar, Ingulal Road, Nabin Residential Area, Bhangatikor, and Shamimabad.

Northern Electricity Supply PLC (NESCO) has reported that power supply will be halted for tree branch trimming and emergency maintenance work on the lines under the 11 kV Shapla and Abhawa (Weather) feeders in Rangpur.

In Rangpur, there will be no electricity in the following areas: Chandrar Mor, Chartala Mor, Shapla Oil Pump, Chamra Patti, both sides of the road at Grand Hotel Mor, Press Club Goli, from Jahaj Company Mor to Dewan Bari Transformer Area, Shah Amanat Shopping Complex, Agomoni Counter and areas adjacent to Adarsha School Mor, Weather Office Area, Beacon Mor, Bou Bazar, Alamgir Mosque, Karanjai Road, Senpara, South Road of Ershad’s Residence, Mulatol Haque’s Goli, and areas adjacent to Ratan Sporting Club.

Authorities stated that power supply could be restored before the scheduled time if the work is completed early.

Cooperation from city residents has been requested for this temporary inconvenience.
